Trend: search → ask

Who is adding AI chat to their site, what it does, and how we can help.

More life-science websites now let visitors just ask a question. A researcher lands on a product page at night, wants to know if an antibody works for IHC, and instead of digging through menus or emailing and waiting a week, they type the question and get an answer right away.

We build these AI assistants for biotech companies, and more customers are asking for them. Here is what we are seeing, with a few real examples.

Some biotech companies already do this

Open a few well-known life-science sites and you will see it.

Thermo Fisher has an “Ask our AI about this Product” tab on its product pages, plus a chat assistant for sales and support.

OriGene, with around 1.5 million products, runs an “OriGene AI” assistant that greets visitors with starter questions about antibodies, controls, gene delivery, and citations.

System Biosciences has a pop-up assistant that greets visitors with “How can I help you today?”, trained on its own products.

WatsonBio keeps it plain. Its assistant introduces itself and answers questions about its services, from custom antibodies to oligo pools.

Proteintech puts its assistant, “AbleAI,” at the top of the homepage. You type a keyword or a full question, and it handles both product search and science questions in one box.

ATUM has its assistant, “Xeno,” in the main banner, with a few starter questions to get people going.

Different products, same idea: people now expect a website they can talk to. Many companies have not added this yet, so there is still room to be one of the first in your area to do it well.

What one of these assistants does

More than a search box. On a technical catalog, it:

Answers real product questions on the spot, using your catalog, datasheets, manuals, and citations. Ask “Do you have a validated antibody for TP53?” and it gives the right product, not a dead end.

Works around the clock, in more than one language, which helps when your visitors are in labs overseas while your team is asleep.

Picks up leads. When the moment fits, it asks for contact details and emails your team a short summary of what the person wanted.

Keeps people on your page a bit longer, so fewer leave for someone else.

Some of your peers already use ChatGenius

The companies above use their own systems or another vendor. Three of them run their assistants on ChatGenius, ours: OriGene, System Biosciences, and WatsonBio. In each case the assistant wears the company’s brand and talks about its science. It is their assistant; ChatGenius is the engine under it.

What ChatGenius is

An AI assistant, powered by frontier models such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, made for websites with large, technical catalogs. It:

  • Reads your whole catalog, plus your PDFs, manuals, and datasheets.
  • Answers with citations, using your own publication and citation data.
  • Collects leads and emails a summary to the right person on your team.
  • Replies in your visitors’ languages, any time of day.
  • Matches your brand, with your colors, fonts, and logo. It can sit on a product page or float in the corner of every page.
  • Comes with a dashboard for chat history, analytics, and export.

It gives you what Thermo Fisher, Proteintech, and ATUM built for themselves, without your own AI team or a long project.

Easy to set up

Three steps: set up the assistant in the dashboard, point it at your website (and upload any extra files), and add one line of code to your site. Your site stays the same. The assistant just sits on top.

In short

AI chat on a life-science site used to be rare. Now some biotech companies have it, and a few of your peers use it to pick up leads. If you have been thinking about it, this is a good time to start, and it will look like your own team built it.

Want to see it on your site? Visit chatgeniusapp.com or reach us through support@biz-genius.com, and we can set up a quick demo trained on your own catalog.
