“Tracking citations, maintaining our own database, and updating the website became labor intensive with multiple people required to execute. BizGenius freed up our team to work on other projects once citation tracking became automatic. Xu and Valerie worked with us to fine tune our search terminology, and we used the widget playground to create a display that was exactly as we wanted. It was less than 3 weeks from the time we started the project to full deployment on our site. With the Citation Tracker, a multi-step, multi-person task became completely touchless.

Citation Number

To show a summary of how many publications have cited you, you may use Citation Number widget. For example:

8296
Total Number of Publications
814
Publications This Year
172
Publications Last Month

The above citation number is generated from this line of code:

<div id="bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-total-year-month" style="display:flex; justify-content:center; flex-wrap:wrap;"></div>

You may further customize the widget. For example, you may show the three numbers individually, and you can also change the font size and family.

8296
Total Number of Publications
814
Publications This Year
172
Publications Last Month

<div style="font-size:12px;  display:flex; justify-content:center; flex-wrap:wrap;">
    <div id="bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-total" style="font-size:12px; width:300px;"></div>
    <div id="bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-year" style="font-size:12px; color:rgb(0, 4, 255); width:300px;"></div>
    <div id="bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-month" style="font-size:12px; width:300px; color:lightseagreen"></div>
</div>
By default, the labels for the numbers are Total Number of Publications, Publications This Year, and Publications Last Month. You may change the labels by modifying the data-label parameter. Use ++ to separate 3 labels for the bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-total-year-month component. For example,

<div id="bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-total-year-month" data-label="Total++Past 12 Months++Last Month" style="color:black;  display:flex; justify-content:center; flex-wrap:wrap;"></div>

Please note, you can't use both bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-total-year-month and individual number components such as bizgenius-citation-widget-container-count-total at the same time in a page.

Interactive Citation Map

This widget supports the following parameters to make it flexible for your own style:

data-disable-cluster="0" // if set to 1, then clustering of adjacent markers will be disabled. The default value is 0

data-cluster-colors="ffee00++fbb806++f6830c++f24d11++ed1717" // the colors of clusters from small to big. This parameter works only when clustering is enabled

data-custom-icon="https://maps.google.com/mapfiles/ms/icons/green-dot.png" // the icon of individual markers

data-paper-link="stork" //the default site for a paper's abstract and full text information when a user clicks a paper. Default "stork", can also be "pubmed" or "journal".

The data-disable-cluster parameter allows you to disable the clustering of adjacent markers and show individual markers. The data-cluster-colors parameter allows you to change the color of the clusters. You need to enter 5 colors in Hex code (without the # symbol) for clusters from small to big, separated by ++. The colors also support transparency. For example, FF000080 is red but with 50% transparency. You may use Adobe's color tool to pick up best looking color combinations. The data-custom-icon parameter allows you to change the icon of the individual markers. The default is a red icon. You may use your own icon, or choose one from hundreds of Google's predefined icons. If you use your own icon, be sure to make the background transparent.

Deviations in effective connectivity explain different hallucination subtypes in Parkinson's disease psychosis

Nat Ment Health (2026) 4 (6), 994-1009 DOI: 10.1038/s44220-026-00669-7
Abstract: Psychosis and visual hallucinations (VH) in Parkinson's disease (PD) substantially impact patient outcomes, yet the underlying neural mechanisms remain unclear, limiting effective treatments. Here we used dynamic causal modeling to leverage the fast temporal dynamics captured with electroencephalography data during a visual mismatch negativity task in people with PD with (N = 20) and without (N = 18) VH to examine effective connectivity. We found reduced top-down and enhanced bottom-up connectivity in ventral visual and prefrontal regions during task performance in PD-VH, suggesting deficits in sensory prediction updating and an overreliance on visual input. Connectivity patterns differed with hallucination complexity, with complex VH being associated with altered top-down and bottom-up right-hemisphere connectivity, and multimodal hallucinations to more widespread bilateral disruption. Increased task activity, as computed with source reconstruction, correlated positively with normative serotonergic 5-HT2A receptor distribution. These findings highlight specific neural targets for early therapeutic interventions, supporting a transdiagnostic computational architecture of hallucinations.© The Author(s) 2026.

Genome-wide CRISPR-screening identifies p53 as regulator of cancer cell sensitivity to the histone evicting anthracycline aclarubicin
van der Zanden, Schipper, van Gelder et al
Cell Death Dis (2026) 17 (1)
Abstract: The anthracycline family, with its prime member doxorubicin, is one of the cornerstones in cancer chemotherapy and acts by poisoning topoisomerase II, resulting in DNA double-stranded breaks. One of its members, aclarubicin, is considered a distinct member of this family due to its inability to inflict DNA double-strand breaks. Despite this, aclarubicin is an effective anti-cancer drug by evicting histones, resulting in chromatin damage. How aclarubicin-induced chromatin damage induces cell death remains largely unknown. Here, we performed a genome-wide CRISPR screen to identify factors regulating sensitivity of cells to aclarubicin and identified p53 as a critical factor for cellular sensitivity. Even though aclarubicin does not induce DNA breaks, treatment resulted in swift activation of ATM independent of the MRN complex, which stabilized and activated p53, resulting in apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Furthermore, response to aclarubicin treatment could reasonably be predicted by the p53-status of cell lines. These data suggest that ATM and p53 can be activated for apoptosis induction by at least two different pathways, DNA- and chromatin damage. Together, these data suggest p53 could be an important factor to stratify patients for treatment with Aclarubicin.© 2026. The Author(s).

Female iPSCs gradually lose the expression of the noncoding X chromosome inactive-specific transcript (XIST), leading to random X chromosome inactivation (XCI) erosion that affects both X-linked and autosomal gene expression. However, the effects of CRISPR editing and neural differentiation on XCI erosion and how this may confound a real-world analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) are poorly understood. Here, we analyzed hundreds of RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) samples of CRISPR-edited iPSC lines for 66 genes and the matched single-neuron RNA-seq data. We found variable XCI in CRISPR-edited female iPSCs, which was largely preserved in iPSC-derived neurons and predominantly influenced X-linked genes. Mechanistically, XIST mediates allele-specific epigenetic regulation of both X-linked and autosomal genes, with the former showing stronger allele-specific expression (ASE) bias that affects neurodevelopmental genes. These results have significant implications in hiPSC-based modeling of neurodevelopmental disorders.Copyright © 2026 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
Generation of a CRISPR/Cas9-corrected isogenic control iPSC line (NIMHi001-A-1) from a Parkinson's disease Patient-Derived iPSC line carrying the LRRK2 I1371V mutation
Banerjee, Singh, Gogoi et al
Stem Cell Res (2026) 97, 104115
Abstract: We report NIMHi001-A-1, a CRISPR/Cas9-corrected isogenic iPSC line derived from a patient line carrying a heterozygous LRRK2 missense mutation GRCh38 chr12:g.40308618A > G [(MANE transcript NM_198578.4:c.4111A > G); p.Ile1371Val] associated with familial Parkinson's disease. Sanger sequencing confirmed successful correction. The line retained iPSC morphology and expressed pluripotency markers (OCT4, NANOG, SOX2, TRA-1-60, SSEA4) by immunofluorescence, gene expression analysis, and flow cytometry. Normal karyotype (46, XY) and complete genetic identity with the parental line were established by STR profiling. No off-target modifications were detected. The line demonstrated trilineage differentiation potential and tested negative for mycoplasma, providing an isogenic platform to investigate LRRK2 I1371V-specific pathomechanisms and evaluate therapeutic strategies.Copyright © 2026 The Author(s). A noncontiguous code for RNA-guided DNA recognition at the origin of CRISPR-Cas
Yoon, Loi, Zhang et al
Science (2026) 393 (6817), 1230-1235
Abstract: CRISPR-Cas provides RNA-mediated adaptive immunity, but how its first RNA-guided effector arose is unclear. In this study, we report the discovery of Viral Interference Programmable Repeat (VIPR) systems consisting of a Vipr protein ancestral to the earliest CRISPR-Cas effectors and VIPR RNAs (vrRNAs) comprising alternating GGY/NN motifs. Unlike canonical guide RNAs that pair with target nucleic acids through contiguous complementarity, vrRNAs recognize double-stranded DNA through a noncontiguous code in which the variable NN dinucleotides collectively specify a gapped target sequence. Natural vrRNA targets suggest that VIPR systems act against competing phages, and we demonstrate programmable phage defense by redirecting the complex for transcriptional repression. These results suggest that adaptive immunity originated from ancient warfare between viruses, revealing a previously unidentified logic for encoding information in sequence.
A systematic review of CRISPR applications in demyelinating peripheral nervous system disorders
Mariki, Kohlmeier, Mousavi et al
Regen Med (2025) 20 (11), 653-662
Abstract: This review evaluates CRISPR-based strategies for myelin regeneration in peripheral demyelinating disorders, with a focus on Guillain - Barré syndrome (GBS) and Charcot - Marie - Tooth disease type 1A (CMT1A). It aims to identify current therapeutic approaches, delivery systems, and gaps in the literature.A systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar for studies published from 2010 onward, following PRISMA guidelines. Study quality was assessed using OHAT and SYRCLE tools, and 14 articles met the inclusion criteria. In GBS, CRISPR interventions primarily targeted antiviral immune regulation (AXL, IFI6, IFNL2), inhibition of viral entry mechanisms (Integrin αvβ5, SPCS1), and Schwann cell repair. In CMT1A, therapeutic approaches focused on correcting PMP22 overexpression. Lentiviral transduction was the most frequently used delivery method, with no major adverse effects reported. However, most studies were in vitro, and only two were in vivo, highlighting the need for further validation in animal models.CRISPR technology shows considerable potential for addressing peripheral nerve demyelination through precise genetic modifications that may enhance Schwann cell function and support myelin repair. Nevertheless, the field remains at an early discovery stage, with no near-term clinical applicability demonstrated.
Recent advances in CRISPR technologies for biomedical applications and disease treatment
Wu, Kou, Bai et al
Theranostics (2026) 16 (16), 9384-9415
Abstract: Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR), a precise genome-editing platform, has revolutionized genetic engineering. The highly selective and programmable characteristics of CRISPR have enabled its broad application. Recent advances in CRISPR biotechnology have promoted its widespread use in various biomedical fields, such as CRISPR screening. Ongoing preclinical and clinical trials will help determine the full capabilities of CRISPR in disease therapy. The efficacy of CRISPR-based applications is fundamentally dependent on optimized delivery strategies. Multiple approaches for delivering the CRISPR components have been investigated, primarily relying on physical, viral and non-viral delivery methods. Each method has specific strengths and limitations. Notably, non-viral delivery systems hold significant promise for CRISPR applications, offering distinct advantages such as transient expression, low immunogenicity, and fewer size constraints for cargo delivery. Various biomaterials demonstrate strong potential for delivering CRISPR components to achieve gene editing, including inorganic nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, lipid nanoparticles, metal-organic frameworks, DNA origami, and virus-like particles. Therefore, this review provides an overview of recent research on the molecular principles of CRISPR and its biomedical applications. Recent advances in CRISPR-based treatments and their delivery vectors are also reviewed. Finally, the challenges faced by CRISPR technology are discussed.© The author(s).

AI Summary

AI Summary shows a short paragraph that AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can quote: how many peer-reviewed publications cite a product (or all of your products), how many countries the citing research comes from, and well-known institutions, companies and journals among the citing papers. It updates itself as new citations come in.

xjView has been cited in 43 peer-reviewed publications, one of them in 2026. These studies span at least 19 countries and regions and include researchers from the University of Zurich, the University of Pennsylvania, and New York University. These papers appear in journals such as Neuron, Communications Biology, and Nature Mental Health.

The summary is generated from codes like this:

<div class="bizgenius-citation-widget-container-aisummary" data-product-name="xjview" data-label="xjView"></div>
(You may also use <span>, and several on one page. Leave out data-product-name for all your products.)

This widget supports the following parameters to make it flexible for your purpose. For example:

data-product-name="xjview" //product name, matched the same way as the Citation Number for a Product. Leave it out for a summary of all your products.

data-label="xjView" //the name the paragraph is about. Without it, the product's own name (or "Our products" when there is no product name).

data-hide-0="yes" //when there are no citations, hide this element or not.

data-enclose = "" //what to enclose around the paragraph. For example, the value can be "()", "[]", or simply empty.

data-pretext= "" //text before the paragraph. For example "AI Summary: "

data-posttext = "" //text after the paragraph.

Ask our AI

"Ask our AI" allows you to show an interactive chat box answering user's questions on your citation library. It's like ChatGPT but trained with the publications in your library.

The above chat box is generated from codes like this:

<div id="bizgenius-chatgenius-widget-container" style="width:100%;height:200px;"></div>

This widget supports the following parameters to make it flexible for your purpose. For example:

data-predefined-questions='["What are the applications of xjView?","How did researchers use xjView?"]' // list of predefined questions. Can be empty

data-product-name="SKU321" // limit the citations to the specific product. If not specified, then the entire citation library will be used

max-height:800px // you may specify the max-height of the component in css. If you do not specify max-height, the height will grow as the content grows.

Your citations should reach everyone who looks for your products. More and more scientists ask AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity which reagent, kit, instrument or software to use; others search Google or Bing, or browse your website. Most AI crawlers don't run JavaScript: to them, a citation widget that loads in the browser is an empty box.

With dual rendering, your citations are delivered twice. Your web server gets them from our API while it builds the page and puts them straight into the HTML, so AI crawlers and search engines read the same citations your visitors see. Then the widget takes over in the browser, so visitors keep search, filters and paging. This is what Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), also called Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), is about: making the evidence for your products easy for AI to find, quote and link to.

What goes into your page’s HTML

  • Citation lists (including top papers and new PubMed / PMC papers), with schema.org structured data for each paper: title, authors, journal, date, DOI or PubMed link, and the product it mentions
  • Citation numbers, and citation counts on product pages (“We have 43 citations”)
  • The AI Summary paragraph, e.g. “xjView has been cited in 43 peer-reviewed publications, one of them in 2026. These studies span at least 19 countries and regions…”
  • Top journal, institution and company lists, the figure list, and the citation search form
